From Shipbuilding to Homebuilding
The business handed down from father to son to grandson to great grandson to great-great grandson, and now-president, Ed Mansell, owns E.T. Mansell Construction, The carpentry skills have honed in crafting great ships have, as well, been passed along from one generation to the next and are today the mark of distinction in Mansell-built home. And today, E.T. Mansell Construction Co. is indeed a family business.
Ed Mansell builds only a few houses a year to maintain his high standards of quality. Most of his business comes from referrals, and he finds the homebuilding market today “a good steady one”. Mansell built his own family’s home in Lemont in 1978 and has since built 100’s of homes and townhomes in the community.
